The Ultimate 90s Playlist for a 90s Themed Party

Ah, the 90s – a decade that gave us some of the most iconic tunes, ones that have stood the test of time. Planning a 90s themed party? Then you need a playlist that screams nostalgia and gets everyone on the dance floor. From pop anthems to rock classics, the 90s had it all.

Pop Sensations:

Start with the decade's pop icons. Think of artists like the Spice Girls, (yes I did have their whole album recorded on the A and B side of a cassette tape....those were there days) Britney Spears, and Backstreet Boys. Their chart-toppers are perfect for getting the party started with some sing-along fun.

Rock and Grunge:

No 90s playlist is complete without a nod to the era's rock and grunge scene. I was more a pop, R&B and hip-hop girl but even I could  appreciate some of the unforgettable hits from bands like Nirvana, Oasis, and Green Day that added edge to the pop-dominated charts.

R&B and Hip-Hop:

The 90s saw a surge in R&B and hip-hop, with artists like Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., and TLC redefining the genres. Include some of these iconic and soulful tunes to add variety to your playlist.

Dance and Techno:

Tracks from the likes of The Prodigy captured the era's club scene…so I've been told. These beats are sure to get everyone moving with their energetic and catchy rhythms.

Iconic One-Hit Wonders:

Don’t forget those one-hit wonders that are still beloved today. Songs like "Macarena" by Los Del Rio and "Mambo No. 5" by Lou Bega are guaranteed to be crowd-pleasers.

Slow Dance Classics:

Every party needs a few slow songs. Include classics from Boyz II Men or Whitney Houston for those moments when guests want to slow things down.
