Before we dive into this cheesy party song playlist, I thought it would be prudent to give you my definition of ‘cheese’... after all, it’s a really subjective category of music.
To me, cheesy songs have a few characteristics:
They have simple or repetitive lyrics.
They feature catchy but somewhat superficial melodies.
They sometimes have over-the-top production, like excessive use of synthesisers, auto-tune, or gimmicky sound effects.
They always, always have a nostalgia factor. They take me back to my youth.
With these characteristics in mind, you’ll probably find that my playlists mostly contain songs that were pretty big in the 90s or 2000s but are now, and forever, the cheesy songs I add to my party playlist when I want to get people up and doing some crazy renditions.
So without further ado, here is my cheesy party song playlist.
